Fanfare and drumrolls please!!!

The new Alternative Knitting address is up and running and is

http://www.alternativeknitting.co.uk

For the time being it will be echoed here - for a couple of months maybe - until I can phase this address out. I was inspired by so many other bloggers to dare a new address. Hopefully this will work out.

Alternative Complementary Health at http://www.alternativecomplementaryhealth.co.uk is now just the bookstore with the odd article thrown in here and there.

Exciting!!!

At last I have acquired a sensible address for Alternative Knitting

www.alternativeknitting.co.uk

Please, please, please update your links to me. Thank you so very very much. (Terrified everyone is going to desert her and she will be assigned to the outer reaches of anonymous bloghell whilst onetime blogfriends frolic on in the sunshine).

In a fit of nostalgia I've noticed that my earliest archive goes back to June 2002, that means that Alternative Knitting has already had its 2nd birthday. I am terrible about anniversaries. I wonder if blogs like flowers?

Meg Grounds does weird and wonderful knitting from the wool of Weresheep, for which she has to risk life and limb at full moon. She is here at 'Knitwear with Bite'.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Not one of my kits to come, but delicious, eh? It came with an admonishment to engage in frank discussion with family and friends about respecting moderation, recognizing your limits, and knowing when to just walk away.

Still no knitting news. Haven't been knitting.

I found this at Rachael's. The best silly quiz yet!

Grover on X
Grover on Ecstasy
You're funny, you're loveable, you're entertaining, you like to call yourself "Super Grover!"--You're obviously on ecstasy. But that's why we love you. Be careful, ok?

What an amazing day

Friday was incredible doing the ATPNI thing. It's not counselling - there is an absolute minimum of content involved - it's all about how you process your experiences rather than the experiences themselves. It happens mostly 'limbically', i.e. using the unconscious mind rather than the cognitive, conscious brain, and there is a constant feeling whilst you are doing it of reaching for something you can't quite define, and then getting there. We laughed loads and loads, and I can't quite remember why.

The result is that some experiences in my life (which we didn't talk about) which were 'hooks' for a negative emotional response, like 'charged' memories, now seem rather flat and only mildly interesting. It's as if the charge has been removed. All this happens neurologically, and I can see it happening when I do it with others, but it's very difficult to catch what actually happens when you experience it yourself. Bliss.

No knitting news.

September 22nd
I'm so tired...

Can't think of what's been going on. I'm getting my Wednesdays under control though, having decided that a 7:15am start does not go with a 21:30 end. Now I start at 9:45am and try not to do more than five clients in the morning and four in the evening. Much more sensible.

I know these have been around for a while, but I find them ticklesome. I use the post cards as bookmarks. At the moment I like the 'battling against biology' one best.

Am leaving tomorrow, Thursday, for Bristol, for my very own ATPNI "Personal Breakthrough" with the fab Sue Barley on Friday. All things being equal, I shall therefore be thoroughly broken through when I return on Saturday :) :) :) I've done loads of this sort of stuff in training, but never a whole day of it, just for me. I'm almost looking forward to it...

Treasury of Magical Knitting
by Cat Bordhi.

Introducing the moebius shape (maths and knitting meet in glorious harmony) - an amazingly simple method of knitting scarves and other items with only one edge. I am smitten.
As yet only available from amazon.com. That didn't stop me :)
