25th September
Monica has alerted me to a fabulous little site which shows knitting techniques - *animated*. I could watch for hours!!! It's here. Have written pattern for Mike's new Cable Jumper: Rowan Wool/Cotton in mottled grey - 'Misty'. The yarn arrived from Sue within a couple of days, although she had to order. I'm going to knit it in the round up to the armholes, then to and fro. Bathmat is also progressing.

18th September
I got some Addi Turbos from Yarnworld today. Can anyone tell me whether there is a difference betweeh Addi Turbos and Addi Premium? I remember the Turbos as having quite brassy coloured tips whereas these are 'extra light' brass tips which look quite silvery.

I've had an email from a keen knitter who lives in South East Essex, in the Southend area, and has trawled the LYSs in vain for knitting lessons. Does anyone know of a class, or a tutor? Erin is making scarves and wants to progress. I learned from books, about 300 years ago, and it worked quite well, so I have recommended Sally Melville's 'The Knit Stitch' to begin with, if lessons are not forthcoming. Has anyone got any more ideas?

I've cut the pici of me... I hate it! The post below will make no sense at all now, but needs must!

15th September
DH caught me negotiating a fiddly bit, surrounded by yarn and other props... Bathmat Anjuli cascades across the floor with 3,000,000 ends to sew in. The colours are much truer in this pici than in the one below. Evidence of my other habit - reading - lurks behind me on the shelves, of which I have many and groaning. The odd beigey thing behind the chair is my massage table folded up. My two 'H' problems, Hair and Hips are in evidence, as usual :)

14th September
I hear you, I hear you!!! Have found digicamera for picis - too fuzzy, will do better next time. Look left for bathroom mat's sleeves just started. Have also been swatching for Mike's new sweater, heavily cabled in Rowan wool/cotton, ordered from Sue at Kangaroo .

Is anyone going to the Knitting and Stitching show at Ally Pally on the 9th? I think I can carve a day away (am on a course that Friday and Saturday, so it will be a *very* short week for me...). I am developing an irrational yearning for some hemp yarn from The House of Hemp. the colours and drape look amazing, and they will have a stand there.

13th September
Both fronts of the bath mat are now done and dusted - unbelievable numbers of ends to sew in. I shall regard that as therapy. The sleeves are going to be slightly different, as there is definitely too much bathroom aqua in the main body; I shall tone that down nicely with finer and fewer stripes in the sleeves. Told you I could never follow a pattern exactly!

Blissful peace in the house. Chris is in Brighton with a uni friend, James is playing cricket (what else?) and Toria has gone up to Lords for the day. Aaaaaaahhhhh.

6th September
With the weather turning, I sense the time has come to start knitting socks on the side again. I have my drawer of sock yarn from Martina waiting patiently for the right time, and I think it's on its way. Two circulars certainly, (can I remember how to do it?) and this time I shall work out how to join the second sock without a hole, so that I can knit two socks at the same time.

2nd September
Now the hot, hot, sunny weather has passed, I'd better get the sleeves finished on the bathroom mat, hadn't I? I think I may abandon the 'Spice' wraparound - I've gone off it and the yarns may be good for a baby blanket à la Vivian Hoxbro. Oh what a harlot I am with my knitting...
