Lost / destroyed a contact lense a couple of days ago, so am now either squinting with only one in or mooning around in a haze. Remaining one is dodgy too. No knitting done. Seeing (or probably not, actually) contact lense lady on Monday, from whence it should be a mere 4 working days 'til I get a new pair. I should be getting ratty, but am actually angelic. I think I shall go and tell everyone as much and demand wine and chocolate.

Ye gods! Why did I ever start a jacket with a knit/purl pattern in black cotton? I can't see without squinting in the half light of the early evening, or in the sitting room with our atmospheric table lamps. So I keep on making the odd mistake here and there, and as each row's pattern depends on the preceding rows, I unknit horizontally or vertically. Back, two fronts and one half sleeve done. Then I shall wear it.
Have started a T-shirt in reds to keep my spirits up. Random stripes in 30+ different reds cottons, wools and silks. Not always the same needle size. Just whatever seems to look good. I *must* get this damned black jacket finished before I play any more ;(
Two of my friends are awaiting grandchildren, and I almost fancy knitting a couple of baby jumpers - they go sooooooo quick!
