Lacy shawl is finished!
But finished in such a rush - midnight knitting features again - that I had no time / steam to get any photos... however I shall catch up with D when she's back from Paris where she is spending her birthday. I did have a little try on myself and liked the look of the half-hexagon rather than the long tail, so when I was in John Lewis the other day I allowed myself to be tempted by some lovely Debbie Bliss pure silk. This is being transmogrified into a half-hexagon for myself, and I'm making the pattern up as I go along to suit yarn, drape and my mood. Looks good so far, and extremely quick to knit on 4mm needles. D's shawl was on 3mm needles...
The Trager Approach in Brighton, Sussex, UK
There's a wonderful movement / bodywork / massage / approach, called the Trager Approach, in which you are very gently shaken, rocked, and rhythmically moved on a massage table by the practitioner... the point being to ease away stress and tension in muscles and joints, to experience your own body blissfully, and for stiffness and aches and pains to melt away. Got some good reviews in the Telegraph and the Daily Mail recently.
The best proponent of this, i.e. the Trager Approach, I know of in Brighton UK is Geralyn Meyler. I go to her myself for sessions, and I am REALLY picky about who gets their hands on me :) (Those of you who know me, know I run the Myofascial Release Clinic UK , a teaching clinic for massage and bodywork practitioners aimed at relieving soft tissue pain conditions). Geralyn's touch, technique and her timing are sublime and she has an innate ability to sense what one's body needs at any given moment in time. She creates an environment of total safety and sensitivity - a prerequisite for any effective bodywork from massage to rolfing.
Highly recommended, you can contact Geralyn, who has just completed level III in the Trager Approach, on 07876 346029 to book a session.
