How do they do it?
Don't answer that one - it's rhetorical. And I like the colour too!

you are turquoise
#40E0D0

Your dominant hues are green and blue. You're smart and you know it, and want to use your power to help people and relate to others. Even though you tend to battle with yourself, you solve other people's conflicts well.

Your saturation level is higher than average - You know what you want, but sometimes know not to tell everyone. You value accomplishments and know you can get the job done, so don't be afraid to run out and make things happen.

Your outlook on life is bright. You see good things in situations where others may not be able to, and it frustrates you to see them get down on everything.

I spent yesterday watching the boys take apart the corner of the drawing room - they were in 7th heaven - whilst I mused over a list of knit projects for next year. I was in 7th heaven too!

Well, I hear you cry, where is this list then? Ahem: here it is so far.

Finish Mike's cable sweater
Beaded hemp top already started
Something to go over the top of beaded hemp in same yarn - I have loads!
Ribby raglan top from Knitting Experience 2 in fuchsia wool
Cat blankets in stash wool
Fine knit 3/4 sleeved top in a coffee-and-cream cotton I happen to have in my stash - I'll design my own pattern
Blue cotton sleeveless top - from stash and own design
Deep violet pure alpaca garter stitch luscious pullover from Knitting Experience 2 plus scarf out of remaining yarn - in stash
Pure mohair yarns in 'onyx' and 'peacock' will be turned into a light sweater plus cardi - not sure how yet. Yarn arriving via ebay :)
10 pairs of socks from Martina's Regia / Socka yarns - in stash
Two T-tops / drapy sleeveless tops from hemp yarn, one in dusty violet, one in milky coffee - I have ideas for some fine assymetrical shapes
I may, of course, have to knit something to accompany these tops...
Long, long thick scarf in garter stitch from my stash of cotton DK in creams and whites - with the odd flash of gold / red / green... of the 'cast on 1426 sts, knit in garter stitch for 80 rows, changing colour when the mood takes you, cast off' type.

What were the boys doing on boxing day?
DH Mike and DS1 Chris were digging up the sitting room floor. Well, just a corner of it, in order to lower the floor and repair the wattle and daub which had become a little worn in the last 600 or so years, so that we could have our grandfather clock with its hood on (otherwise too tall for that part of the room).

They dug right down to original brick - beyond the 17th C 'new build' and avoided all water pipes, underground streams and other hazards so common in these parts. They also noted the need for a new carpet (yesssss!) and new lighting. Hurraaaahhhh!

25th December
Merry festivities, everyone
And finest wishes for health, wealth and, most of all, happiness in the new year. And, of course, much knitting inspiration and yarn, yarn and more yarn. I'm off to devour turkey sandwiches and christmas pudding :)

(Er... yes. I do still manage the bloground on Christmas day.) (And I knit). (A lot).

Jamtart enjoying her stocking

'Poems of Color; Knitting in the Bohus Tradition', (currently only available from amazon.com), a beautiful history of this Swedish organisation and includes sumptuous picis and not a few patterns and charts. Superb Christmas presi for experienced knitters.

Fascinating arguments, far-fetched and just a leeeeeeetle biased, as they may be.
