31st December 2002

I missed a day somewhere! This page has bacome really heavy with loads of picis, but be patient, it's worth it for Jamtart's christmas portrait alone! I'm off to find yarn for a Little Penguin jumper.

29th December 2002

Chris' birthday socks have been started in Opal sock yarn from Martina. Long ankles all in double rib (8", longer than I usually do), half eye of partridge heel and toe, stocking stitch foot. The yarn is black/white, blue/white and red/white variegated. I just hope I have enough yarn for both socks, otherwise one toe is going to end up black!

28th December 2002

Have finished Project Linus blanket (32" X 33.5"). In the second picture it is being modelled by Montague, a very fine monkey who arrived here as a Christmas present from my second son, James. The very blue diagonal line is in fact blue and green stripes.

27th December 2002

Christmas has gone really well. Everyone is happy with their gifts, and I have had three whole days off. Did three massages this morning, and will do my last at two o'clock. Then off again for the day.

Have nearly finished Project Linus blanket. All squares are done, and I have sewn five of the six rows together and to each other. Shall complete the sewing this afternoon, then crochet around to finish all the yarn. I'll never use the leftovers as it is acrylic, but soft and washable for the blankie. (Animation by millan.net)

I am now the proud owner of 'Folk Socks', given to me by Mike (DH). He went around both Borders and Waterstones - what an intrepid hero !! - and this was all he could find on socks. In fact he said there was hardly anything on knitting! What a find! Thank you Mike *and* Borders!! I have earmarked several pairs already. First one for my older son's birthday in January.

the Sock Guy's site is full of sock patterns and interesting sock-related matter. Take a look here.

24th December 2002

Couldn't resist these picis of Jamtart. I may have to add another when I've cleared up to prove that my kitchen is not always like this :)

Jamtart disappears under the deluge which is the chaos of my kitchen on Christmas Eve.

Awoken from her slumbers, she turns round to find Mike snapping a sneaky pici...

Feeling she is not looking her best, she makes sure her complaint does not go unnoticed...

However, all is well again as Jamtart poses sleek and sophisticated for her Christmas 2002 kitchen portrait.
