Anne's
s*t*a*s*h!
(blush)

52 or 79 things I have discovered about me, life and knitting. Or fewer. Or more.

What Anne does for a living

End of year 2005
Well, I haven't been keeping up with the tally, but I have also finished a lime green cashcotton sweater for me, a grey scarf in very thick yarn and no socks at all this year!

December
This sweater in lime Cashcotton is proving to be on me more than anything else.

Beaded hemp top, finished at last! The sample swatch was a total waste of time. It uber-shrank and the top has ended up about 4 inches too wide! However, I wear it over a sleeveless T and love it! You can't see the beading properly on the picic, I may try to take another. There is more beading on the back than on the front, as I didn't really want sparkly boobs. The yarn from House of Hemp
is still unbelievably lovely to knit with. Next time I am going to ignore sample swatch after washing and measure before for more accuracy.

Koigu wool fingering weight (4ply) scarf in garter stitch with randomly placed rows of eyelets. I started this in Minneapolis in May having bought two skeins of the yarn. I just knitted on until I ran out of yarn. Eyelets go up the sides and across each end, too.

Pink baby blanket in simple stocking stitch with garter stitch border and eyelet edging. Knit diagonally from one corner out and then in again.

Meltingly soft alpaca and mohair yarn, in reverse stocking stitch, another top-down raglan. This is so warm and snuggly, one could forget oneself in it. Phoebe thinks I have become a proper kitten-mummy, having acquired the correct texture and colour of fur. She spent most of last night snuggled in inside the sweater, purring deliriously. Cleo helped to knit it by adjusting the tension whenever she saw the yarn twitch.

And here are the shorts for little Laurie, Melanie and Kate's baby. They are to go with the raglan top.

February 3rd
Here's the top-down raglan I made in Heng Li chinese wool, held double. It's reverse stocking stich, and next time I shall make the neckline a little wider. I'm not going to rip this one.

January 2nd
The little raglan sleeved sweater for Laurie, Melanie and Kate's baby. She is now about six months old, and the sweater looks rather large. The buttons are wooden and the yarn is a 4ply alpaca held double.
